Sustainability

Why sustainability matters at Treeline Dental

By embracing sustainable practices, individuals and businesses can play their part in minimising our impact on climate change. Sustainable practices can also lead to improved efficiency and reduced costs. Treeline Dental believes that all businesses have a responsibility to their local communities as well as the overall environment.  As the Treeline group grows, we know we can create a significantly positive impact if we look towards long term efficiencies.

Dr Jimmey Palahey said: “At Treeline Dental we want to do our bit to preserve the planet for future generations. Our sustainability philosophy is to support a healthier planet whilst providing excellent oral health care. We have a duty to the communities we serve. I believe that more and more patients are choosing businesses that reflect their own ethical and environmental values. Sustainability strengthens trust and builds lasting relationships with our patients.”

Our sustainable behaviour includes:

  • Prioritising sustainable alternatives in procurement and production. Waste reduction is embedded in every step of our process
  • Reducing transportation emissions by choosing local suppliers, including local dental laboratory suppliers
  • Partnering with suppliers who offer eco-friendly packaging or choosing bulk purchasing to minimise waste
  • Managing waste to ensure materials that can be recycled are properly sorted and processed, whether that is paper, plastics or electronics
  • Creating patient incentives – for example, orthodontic patients who keep their study models can expect a discounted price for new retainers
  • Reducing single-use plastics by switching to reusable or compostable alternatives
  • Minimising paper usage by using digital records and forms where possible
  • Choosing virtual meetings where possible with reps and suppliers to cut our carbon footprint
  • Encouraging staff to use electric vehicles with recharging sockets available in our carparks
  • Minimising energy consumption by installing smart thermostats, motion sensors for lights and transitioning to energy-efficient lighting (LEDs)
  • Reducing water usage by installing low-flow fixtures and systems

In addition to these interventions, Treeline Dental is proud to be partnered with Lloyds Bank to collaborate on their sustainability initiatives including the Green Buildings benchmarking tools. This ensures that our business is meeting its sustainability goals.
